Instagram’s Map is here, and this is how you can turn your location off
The responses were slightly bored by the fact that Instagram tears the snap cards from Snapchat instead of offering a default flow which contains only the messages of your friends, to high outrage on the implications possibly in terms of confidentiality and Doxing, as well as the way in which victims of domestic violence or others could be endangered via the application.
Meta says that functionality is an “opt-in” means only to share your active location with the friends you choose, or a way to browse the content that friends and creators publish, organized by the locations marked in their publications and coils.
How to deactivate your location on the Instagram card

If you have not activated access to the location for Instagram, Meta says that the MAP functionality is deactivated by default and that you will not be able to access the settings because it does not have access to this data.
Why do you see people on your Instagram card who have not activated the functionality or opted?
According to Instagram boss, Adam Mosseri, people see messages and coils marked by the location that are also included in the card user interface and assuming that this indicates a following location.
“Your last coil appears on the map, not your current location. Your live location is not shared, and it will never be unless you decide to share it, ”writes Mosseri. In another article, he promised: “We will release some design improvements as quickly as possible”, potentially next week.
