Inter Milan President Issues San Siro Warning To City Of Milan: “Stadium A Priority, If It Doesn’t Get Resolved, We’ll Go Elsewhere”

Inter Milan President Beppe Marotta issued a warning to the city of Milan in the middle of a situation in the course of San Siro.

Addressing the press after last night’s victory over Sassuolo via FCinter1908, Marotta offered his verdict on the current issue.

“As a football man and as the president of Inter, I believe that the city of Milan assumed a marginal role in sports issues,” said Marotta.

“San Siro can no longer organize a final of the Champions League, and it cannot be considered among the stadiums for 2032.

“This is a major problem, a debate where the opinions of politicians from 30 years ago, which are very conservative, are still dominating.

“There are two best clubs, Inter and Milan, representing Milan, and they are both faced with this stadium problem.

“If the Milan City Council cannot resolve the question, we will be forced to seek elsewhere.

“This is not something we want to do because Milan is Milan. However, the stadium problem is a priority and we do not find solutions at the moment.

“We expect the political class, through the city administration and now the municipal council, expresses a favorable vote.

“We are dealing with two private investors ready to invest around 1.5 billion euros.

“It would create a jewel for the city of Milan and should be a source of pride with many additional advantages, and common sense should prevail.

“The alternative? It could be a rozzano or other places.

“We have immense respect for an icon like San Siro, but today, it’s obsolete, and it’s just that it takes a step back.”
