Sony’s first EV with Honda will let you remotely play PS5 in your car

Road trips far and wide have become much easier, at least for passengers. Sony Honda Mobility, the joint venture between the two Japanese conglomerates created to produce electric vehicles, has announced that its Afeela EV will come with PS Remote Play. While playing video games in a car may be a niche feature, it means drivers will have something to do once parked and passengers can play their favorite role-playing games during long journeys.
According to the announcement, the Afeela will be able to operate your PS5 and PS4 consoles remotely via the infotainment system’s built-in screen. You can even pick up your DualSense controller from home and jump right back into the game after hopping into your Afeela. Sony Honda Mobility said that a 5 Mbps broadband connection is required to play, and 15 Mbps will provide a smoother experience.
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of PS Remote Play in an electric vehicle. The joint venture already showed off the Afeela 1, with first deliveries expected in 2026, and its ability to play PlayStation titles remotely at CES 2024. As for gaming in electric vehicles in general, Tesla offered Steam support for its Model S and X, but later removed that feature.
