Iran Strike Sparks U.S. Sleeper Cell Fears – RedState
Even with the successes of Operation Epic Fury, Iran could still accomplish something no nation-state enemy of the United States has done since the War of 1812: directly strike American citizens on the American continent. A report on Sunday presents the worrying prospect of Iranian sleeper cells, right here in the United States, that may be just waiting for the order to strike.
US counterterrorism agencies, including the FBI, are already reportedly monitoring possible Iranian-sponsored sleeper cells.
U.S. counterterrorism agencies are quietly monitoring suspected sleeper cells on U.S. soil following joint U.S.-Israeli strikes against Iran, stepping up their surveillance amid heightened fears of possible retaliation from Iran-linked operatives or sympathizers.
Federal and local law enforcement agencies have also increased on-the-ground security in major U.S. cities as a precautionary measure, although no specific, credible threats have been publicly identified.
The move follows a Saturday morning operation, dubbed Operation Epic Fury, that resulted in the deaths of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and several senior Iranian officials during a coordinated military campaign between the United States and Israel.
Not that killing members of one of the most vicious and murderous regimes in modern history isn’t still worth it, but this possibility of having sleeper cells right here in our own country is nothing new.
“If ever a Hezbollah or Hamas cell was going to act violently in the United States, it’s now,” Chris Swecker, former deputy director of the FBI, told Fox News.
“Both organizations are supported by Iran to the end. Both organizations have been present in the United States since the 1980s,” he added.
Swecker said U.S. authorities have long been aware of domestic networks and sympathizers.
“We know they have cells here. We also know there are lone sympathizers, many of whom have come out in these protest groups,” he added.
We may have seen just one of these lone supporters in Austin, Texas, on Sunday.

As horrifying as this idea is, this goblin, who fortunately reached room temperature thanks to a lightning-fast response from the Austin police, it seems certain that this will not be the last such incident, and as I have been pointing out for years, many of these cells will not be gullible low-IQ dupes, but trained professionals.
The question becomes: If we know that Iranian-backed terrorist groups have cells here, why haven’t those cells been wiped out? Do we wait for them to move?

He also warned that border security vulnerabilities may have worsened the risk.
“We just came out of four years of open borders, and I’ve said before that this was an open door for terrorists to access terrorist cells and terrorist sympathizers. Many were already there, but there’s no way they’re not going to infiltrate these particular groups and not act as sort of enablers, like enablers.”
In this context, the FBI is preparing to strengthen its internal security posture.
FBI Director Kash Patel said Saturday that counterterrorism and intelligence teams are now on alert amid ongoing U.S. actions involving Iran.
Note this statement: We have just completed four years of open borders. If there are terrorist cells here, if there are Americans injured or, fate forbid, killed by these goblins, these events must be blamed squarely on the Biden administration and Democrats in general, who continually demand open borders, defund our immigration authorities, and admit anyone from anywhere in the world, without question or reservation.
