Iranians Celebrate on the Streets of ‘Tehrangeles’ After US Strikes, but Gavin Newsom Has Hurt Feelings – RedState

After religious fanatics took power in Iran in 1979, millions of people fled the country in a massive diaspora of people who did not want to live under the mullahs’ oppressive rule. Guess where most of them migrated to?
Los Angeles, California. In fact, some call it “Tehrangeles”:
The Greater Los Angeles area is home to the largest concentration of people of Iranian origin outside of Iran. Since the Islamic Revolution of 1979, it has served as the capital of exiles. In 2019, more than half of Iranian immigrants in the United States lived in California, with 29%, or nearly 140,000 people, in Los Angeles County alone, according to the Migration Policy Institute.
Many settled in the Westwood neighborhood, and with news of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s death in US-Israeli strikes in what became known as “Epic Fury,” crowds took to the streets Saturday to express their joy.

Everyone who takes part in the celebrations has a story to tell. Here is my friend Dr. Houman Hemmati, a frequent Fox News contributor, who tells the moving story of what it was like as a three-year-old to see his country take power.
It’s a long tweet, but it’s worth it; click on it to read more.
🇮🇷 47 years ago, I stood in front of a window in Tehran when I was 3 years old, smelling the smell of burning tires and hearing the chants that would steal my country away. I had no words to describe what was happening. Today, I watch the smoke rise above the same city – but this time, the smoke is not the end… pic.twitter.com/RGFXMOaykb

Today, I watch the smoke rise over the same city – but this time, the smoke does not mean the end of Iran. This is, God willing, the beginning of his resurrection.
Of course, die-hard leftists like actress Jane Fonda participated in downtown protests against the strikes (it’s a little late now, isn’t it, Jane?), apparently arguing that the world was better when the Ayatollah lived.
Although Fonda had a successful acting career, for many people the word “betrayal” is the first thing that comes to mind when talking about her due to her closeness to North Vietnamese soldiers in 1972 during the Vietnam War.
I appreciate that Jane Fonda took the time to come down from her multi-million dollar home in the hills to tell all the people of Iran why their release is a bad thing. pic.twitter.com/FOpo1s9KnF

If Hanoi Jane takes a position on something, chances are the opposing point of view is the right one.
MORE: Why now? The reason Trump authorized Epic Fury
Iran’s meme battles have started and they are hilarious
There was, however, another Californian who resented America’s dominant force on the world stage, and that was, unsurprisingly, progressive Governor Gavin Newsom. I say “progressive” because he has made enormous progress in destroying the Golden State.
As our Susie Moore reported Saturday, one of the reasons we attacked when we did was because there was intelligence that Iran was about to strike U.S. forces, which likely would have resulted in many casualties.
But for Gavin, protecting his own is “illegal” and “dangerous”:
The corrupt and repressive Iranian regime must never possess nuclear weapons. Iran’s leaders must go. But that does not justify the President of the United States engaging in an illegal and dangerous war that will endanger the lives of our American service members and our friends…

But that does not justify the President of the United States engaging in an illegal and dangerous war that will endanger the lives of our American service members and our friends without justification to the American people.
President Trump is putting Americans in danger abroad because he is unpopular at home.
Yeah, that’s it, Gav – that and the fact that Iran was desperate for a nuclear weapon, and probably would have vaporized Israel the second it got one.
New York’s socialist Democratic Mayor Zohran Mamdani and many other mentally disturbed Democrats condemned the strikes, showing once again that opposing Trump is more important to them than the safety of U.S. military personnel and our legal residents.
Scream louder, Gavin, Jane and Zohran – this will not bring back the sadistic and very ancient Supreme Leader.
