Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has been linked to two luxury apartments overlooking the Israeli embassy in London, a location that security experts say could provide “permanent surveillance”, according to multiple reports.
The multimillion-dollar Kensington properties sit next to the prestigious embassy complex and were identified by British media, based on the findings of a year-long investigation into Khamenei’s potential overseas assets.
The Times of London reported March 5 that the unique building “sits next to the Israeli embassy on Palace Green,” placing the residences in exceptional proximity to one of Israel’s most sensitive diplomatic sites.

The revelations stem from a Bloomberg investigation that Khamenei’s portfolio could span multiple countries and include high-value real estate in London, totaling about $138 million, as well as assets in Europe and the Gulf.
The two London apartments were reportedly acquired in 2014 and 2016 through intermediaries and would occupy the upper floors of the building, providing a direct view towards the rear of the Israeli embassy complex, British media reported.
A terrorism expert cited in the reports said that this position effectively means that “Iran has a view of the rear of the Israeli embassy within 50 meters,” describing the situation as a potential “serious security breach.”

Roger Macmillan, former security director of the Iranian dissident satellite channel Iran International, also said that the two apartments had “a direct line of sight, provided by Mojtaba Khamenei. This is not a real estate portfolio, it is a permanent surveillance platform.”
“This is a serious security breach,” he added.
Other details from the Bloomberg investigation indicated that a businessman acted as a financial intermediary, purchasing high-end properties in Khamenei’s name and funneling the funds through a network of investments.

The investigation also revealed that 11 homes on London’s “Billionaire’s Row” had been purchased through an Isle of Man shell company.
The Financial Times also reported links between Khamenei’s associates and luxury assets across Europe.
Khamenei, 56, is seen as a powerful figure within Iran’s establishment, eventually becoming the main successor to his father, who was killed in a strike in Tehran on February 28.
