Anaheim, California – Jake Paul won his greatest victory against an experienced opponent by browsing the former average WBC weight champion, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. with a unanimous decision in a 10 -round fight.

Paul (12-1, 7 KB) clearly indicated his intention to become world champion, and victory over Chavez brought him closer to see his dream materialize. However, Paul is still relatively inexperienced, with a single fight as an amateur and his victory against Chavez being only on the 13th of his professional career. The level of competition he was faced with is also a concern. His career was devoted to MMA veterans, to two boxing companions, another Youtuber, a retired player from the NBA and a former 60 -year -old heavyweight champion in Mike Tyson.

CHAVEZ is experienced, but he exceeded his peak well and had trouble staying active and competitive. Nevertheless, Paul won the greatest victory in his career and demonstrated some new wrinkles to a game that has been showing growth since he suffered his only defeat against Tommy Fury in 2023.

If Paul wants to fight for a world title Cruiserweight, his options are the WBC Badou Jack, Gilberto “Zurdo” champion Ramirez, who defended his WBA and WBO belts in the co-printer event, and Jai Opetaia, the IBF holder. WBA and WBC suggested that an impressive performance by Paul could see him classified by sanction organizations, when there was no word from IBF and WBO.

“I don’t care, my brother,” said Paul during his post-combat interview. “I had a lot of time. I am 28 years old. I’m going to fight anyone at any time.”

Given the circumstances, what is the next next one for Paul and who has the best chance against?

1. Badou Jack

Jack has held the WBC title since February 2023, when he arrested Ilunga Makabu, but he only made one defense – against Noel Mikaelian in May. The calendar could match a fight with Paul by the end of 2025, and although Jack is 41 years old, there remains a dangerous option because of his experience. Of all the champions, Jack would present the most realistic option for Paul. As for the challenge, it would be a massive step for Paul, but it would have an advantage of reach and would have appeared to acclimatize to the size of cruising companions. This does not mean that Jack is the “easiest” opponent, but he is the most likely option if Paul hopes to win a world title.

2. Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez

Ramirez, 34, won a difficult decision against former Yuniel Dorticos champion on Saturday and is undefeated to Cruiserweight. Although it is not his most impressive performance, “Zurdo” faced a former impactful champion and moved away late. Do not be fooled by the slow start of Ramirez and poor performance. He is incredibly qualified, with the ability to prepare punches and effectively neutralize his opponent with his guard. Since the WBA is interested in classifying Paul, Ramirez is an option for the old YouTuber. Ramirez seems to be more interested in a unification fight with Opetaia than against Paul, and this seems to be the most likely route, even if the two led an impromptu watched by the press conference after the fights. Ramirez has size and experience on his side against the young Paul, who would probably be an important outsider. But WBA has made questionable decisions in the past, so it would not be a big surprise if the fight with Paul was ordered.

3. Jai Opetaia

Opetaia, 29, is the class of the Cruiserweight division. He has speed and power on his side. He is a violent punker in his early years and a nightmarish match for Paul at this stage. The IBF has not expressed its interest in classifying Paul, so it is the most improbable of potential championship fights for Paul. He also presents the most rigid challenge, and Paul would need much more seasoning in the ring before taking up the challenge. Opetaia is not as popular with the American public, so the risk against the reward may not yet be worth for Paul.

Most probably following an opponent: Tommy Fury

A revenge match with Fury – in a non -Title fight – is a more realistic option for Paul, who has improved by step as a giant since the last time they fought. The time has come for the loss to be avenged. Paul’s team regularly declared that Fury’s asked price was too high for a revenge match, but Fury’s options are rare at this stage of their career. The fight would be an important draw with a solid scenario. As long as the two parties can be reconciled, this is the right fight to be made if Paul cannot get one with a world champion.
