The Israeli military announced Saturday that it had killed a high-ranking Hamas commander in the Gaza Strip who was working to restore the Palestinian militia’s capabilities and weapons production.
The announcement, made in a press release, did not name the person killed.
Israeli media outlets, The Times of Israel and Ynet, reported that Raad Saad was the top commander of the Palestinian militant organization who was targeted in an airstrike and killed in Gaza City.
Saad was allegedly the main organizer of the October 7, 2023 terrorist attack in southern Israel, in which around 1,200 people were killed and more than 250 others were kidnapped in the Gaza Strip.
