Cardinals QB Kyler Murray explains interception against Chiefs in preseason opener
The Arizona Cardinals opened their pre-season calendar on Saturday with a 20-17 victory against the Chiefs of Kansas City at the State Farm Stadium. They joined a deficit of 14 to 3 quarters.
The starting offensive played a little over a quarter, playing two possessions and marking three points.
The quarterrier Kyler Murray looked good in his time limited in the field, but he also launched a critical interception in the red zone of the first possession of the cardinals.
Murray explained what happened after the match. Essentially, he undergone the ball.
“I didn’t have enough," He said after the match. "This is something that in practice, I never really deploy the full speed as if someone was really going to tackle me. It’s a bit weird to explain. I just have to get more. I’m glad it happened, because I would hate it is New Orleans, and it means something. »»
The security of Jaden Hicks chiefs also bait the throw. Hicks gave the impression that he was coming back to cover Trey McBride, who was closer to the melee line and on the touch, which led Murray to believe that he could simply drop the jet over to go to Marvin Harrison Jr.
Murray, who had not played in the pre-season since 2021, was happy to obtain high-speed representatives and had to throws against players who are allowed to strike him and attack.
Even in high-speed practices, it is not the same for Murray, because the defenders are not allowed to strike the quarterrier or to fight against players on the ground.
"This is something that you cannot reproduce in practice, by moving at the speed at which you move, going to the left to the right side, by moving the guys and moving," He said.
We do not yet know whether or not Murray will obtain a pre-season action or not. Starters do not traditionally play in the last match, and the cardinals will have joint practice the coming week before their pre-season match against the Broncos de Denver. Over the past two years, after joint practices, the starters of the cardinals have not played.
While nobody wants to see Murray turning the ball, the offensive went well. He finished all his other passes, obtaining the ball at five different sensors. They moved the ball. They simply haven’t finished their records.
If that’s all Murray does in pre-season, it should give good momentum to the regular season.
