Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua make weight for Netflix boxing match
MIAMI – Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua, one of the most improbable matchups in boxing history, officially became official after both men stepped on the scales Thursday.
Given the size difference, Joshua was contractually obligated to weigh no more than 245 pounds for the heavyweight fight. After a long wait during the weigh-in window, he did just that and recorded 243.4. This reduces Joshua’s weight, which usually weighs over 250.

Paul weighed in at 216, significantly heavier than his cruiser weight limit of 200. It was the second heaviest weight Paul has weighed for a fight after landing 227.2 for his November 2024 fight with Mike Tyson.
Paul vs. Joshua headlines a boxing event taking place Friday at the Kaseya Center and streaming on Netflix.

Fearing Paul would put himself in danger, the fight came under scrutiny given the circumstances: Paul, a YouTuber turned professional boxer, fighting Joshua, a two-time unified heavyweight champion and Olympic gold medalist with a huge size advantage and more than double the experience.
