Jennifer Lawrence’s Red-Carpet Sweater Would Look Just as Good With Jeans
Fall layering is usually a street style look, but leave it to Jennifer Lawrence to bring it to the red carpet. At the Rome Film Festival, where she attended the screening of her new film Die, my love, The Oscar winner wore the most daring and unexpected clothing combination we’ve seen on the star in a minute, and we’re definitely enjoying the playfulness.
Instead of a traditional dress or suit, Lawrence opted for a tiered, bubble-hem skirt paired with a faux-slouchy (but actually fitted) sweater, all from Dior. At first glance, the two pieces do not appear to belong to the same outfit. The skirt is feminine, light, fancy, fashion; the top is versatile and can be worn in a professional setting or out for a dinner date.
But the top has the same neckline as a ball gown and the same cuffs as a tuxedo. It’s actually quite formal. A black ribbon on the skirt matches the black details on the top and black shoes, tying the outfit together. Is this the most consistent look? It’s up to you, but we think Lawrence nails it.
