Jazz Chisholm Jr.’s 100th career HR helps Yankees skip sweep

New York – Jazz Chisholm Jr. Run at home of two points on the second round on Sunday evening at the Yankee Stadium gave the New York Yankees their first advance against the Boston Red Sox since the opening of Thursday’s series. It was also a personal step, the 100th of his career in his sixth season of major league.
But Chisholm’s mind was on his best friend, who died on Saturday, while he was running the basics, crossed the marble and held tears in the Yankees canoe.
“It was a bit surreal,” said Chisholm after the Yankees 7-2 victory. “I lost my best friend yesterday, so today, I felt like another type of day, especially with the 100th home run to come today and everything.”
Chisholm refused to share other details that he has gone through a lot in the last “30 hours about”.
Cameras have caught an emotional chisholm tightening Aaron’s judge and buried his head in the chest of the safe after hitting his 100th career circuit of the right-hander of the Red Sox Dustin May.
The second base player added a second home circuit in eighth round, giving him 24 circuits this season to equalize the career summit he set in 2024. Trent Grisham also took a tour of the circuit, giving him a career summit of 25 for the season, while the Yankees avoided a scan of four games and made their sequence of eight games against their rivals. Chisholm and Grisham are two of the five Yankees with at least 20 circuits this season, a number that leads the majors.
“I still want to play in Boston,” said Chisholm. “I feel like the energy in the game, the way our fans come out, the way their fans come out, I have the impression that it is a real intense game. Each game against Boston here looked like an eliminatory game. So, for me, I know that it is exactly what we are going to have here, and we will also prepare for the eliminations and I know a lot here.”
New York will open a series of three games against the Washington Nationals on Monday. The Yankees are half a game behind the Red Sox for the first point of Joker and six games behind the Toronto Blue Jays of first place in the American League East. The Yankees and the Red Sox will meet for their last regular season series in Boston, a three -game set that starts on September 12 and could have ramifications in major playoffs. The Yankees are 2-8 against Boston this season.
“Certainly not the weekend that we wanted to have, especially when we left a very good road trip,” said Yankees manager Aaron Boone. “But a good victory nevertheless.”
