IHG’s Holiday Inn Express hotel brand expands in Nepal

IHG Hotels & Resorts concluded a management agreement with Hotel Eastern Nepal to establish a new Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Dhulabari, Nepal.
This decision means IHG’s strategy to extend its presence in Southwest Asia. He marks the second collaboration with the eastern Hotel Nepal, after the opening of Holiday Inn Resort Kathmandou Budhanilkantha.
The director general of the IHG Hotels & Resorts in Southwest Asia, Sudeep Jain, said: “We are delighted to strengthen our presence in Nepal with Holiday Inn Express & Suites Dhulabari.
“Based on the successful launch of Holiday Inn Resort Kathmandu Budhanilkantha with our partners, the new signature in Dhulabari testifies to the confidence, alignment and the shared vision that we have established together.”
With an opening scheduled for 2026, the next Holiday Inn Express & Suites will offer 99 rooms and suites, various catering options and a roof adjustment.
The hotel strategic location in the Jhapa district offers easy access to travelers, being close to the Nepal-India border in Kakarvitta and Chandragadi domestic airport.
In addition, the Pathibhara Devi temple, a pilgrimage site, is 15 km by car.
The President of Nepal East of the Hotel, Binita Thapa Khadka, said: “We are proud to extend our partnership with IHG Hotels & Resorts with the addition of a second hotel. Our work experience with the IHG for the operational excellence of Holiday Inn Kathmandu, making this next project a natural projection.
“Dhulabari presents an exciting opportunity for growth, and with the HGG confidence expertise and global standards, we are convinced that the hotel will raise the reception offer in the region and serve a strong economic contributor.”
This development should respond to a mixture of business travelers and leisure, specifically benefiting from the growing commercial and agricultural industries in the region, said the IHG.
With a rarity of brand hotels in the region, the Dhulabari property should also become a space for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (mice), as well as social gatherings.
“The Holiday Inn Express hotel brand IHG is developing in Nepal” was originally created and published by Hotel Management Network, a brand belonging to Globaldata.
