John Fetterman’s wife denies political ambitions, wouldn’t back presidential run

First of all on Fox – Gisele Fetterman, the wife of the Pennsylvania Democratic Senator, John Fetterman, admitted to a new interview that she would not support the idea that her husband presents to the presidency.

In an extract obtained by Fox News Digital, Fetterman was asked if her husband had “ambitions to come to the presidency”, during an appearance on “Citizen McCain” by Meghan McCain on 2way.

“This is a question for him,” Fetterman told McCain. “But, I would certainly not be favorable to that.”

McCain also asked Fetterman if she had an interest in presenting herself to her duties, after media reports during the senatorial campaign of her husband suggested that she was the “de facto candidate” after having undergone a stroke on the campaign path in 2022.

Fetterman denied that she had an interest in presenting herself in the elections, telling McCain that she would never consider him “never” during the interview, which will be broadcast in full on Wednesday.

“Why do you think people still want to put this on you?” Asked McCain.

Fetterman was disconcerted by speculating media relationships on his political ambitions.

“It was so weird. I remember that it was as if I was, I was doing the sculpture to be the sender,” said Fetterman, guessing that the media focuses on her was just for “clicks”.

McCain, the daughter of the late Arizona senator, John McCain, added that she had no interest in presenting herself in the elections.

“I have never told anyone in my whole life that I would present myself to their functions or that I had to want,” added Fetterman. “You couldn’t pay me to run in the elections. But it was the news for months.”

“It’s so strange,” she continued. “I feel for truly famous people like celebrities, because I think of everything I read about them, I don’t believe anything now because that is probably not true either.”

Senator Fetterman’s office did not respond to the request for comments from Fox News Digital.

John Fetterman won a siege in the Senate fiercely contested in the Pennsylvania swing state in 2022, but he sometimes thwarted his party since he took office during some of his positions, in particular his firm support for Israel and illegal immigration.

Earlier this year, a presentation of New York magazine revealed alleged tensions between Fetterman and his wife about his support for Israel and his war in Gaza. The report said that Gisele had confronted her husband about Israel’s “refugee camps” and went to his employees with his concerns about his health.

Senator Fetterman was hospitalized for depression after his stroke in 2023, and reports emerged from his staff members describing erratic behavior behind the scenes since he took office. He rejected the story of Ny Mag as a “successful play” at the time.
