Jon Jones Turned Down $15 Million For White House Superfight Against Alex Pereira

Jon Jones claims the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) offered him $15 million to fight in the next UFC White House Card in June, but it just wasn’t rich enough for the Octagon legend.
Fight fans may have we expect to see a Jones vs. Alex Pereira superfight leading the highly anticipated White House card, but Pereira ended up facing Ciryl Gane for the UFC interim heavyweight title. Fight fans were a little shocked to see Jones jumpedbut according to UFC CEO Dana White, the former UFC champion had no chance of landing in the main event.

While White insists UFC matchmakers were never in talks with Jones to headline Trump’s birthday party, “Bones” confirmed the negotiations were real. In fact, Jones said earlier this month that he “lowballed” for his return to the Octagon. Given the history between Jones, the UFC and White, fight fans really didn’t know what to think or what the bottom number actually was.
On Saturday, Jones took to social media to shed light on his failed talks with UFC executives. According to the former UFC light heavyweight and heavyweight champion, the promotion was not willing to pay more than $15 million for a superfight against Pereira at the White House. That might sound like a lot of money, even to Jones, but “Bones” was offered $30 million for a fight with Tom Aspinall in 2025 and also refused. Looks like Jones expected more money for a fight with “Poatan” than he did for last year’s proposed unification fight with Aspinall.

“I was ready, willing and physically able to intervene,” Jones wrote via X. “I was willing to accept a lot less than Aspinall was asking, but they wouldn’t budge a dollar beyond $15 million. I felt like our fight was worth more.”
