Kalihi robbery suspect flees after knife threat

Honolulu police are searching for a suspect after an attempted robbery at a Kalihi business early this morning.
The Honolulu Police Department said officers responded around 6:55 a.m. to North School Street, where a man approached a register, brandished a butcher knife and demanded money.
Police said the suspect fled when additional customers entered the store, and no property was taken.
No injuries were reported.

Witnesses described the suspect as a Micronesian man about 5 feet 6 inches tall and 170 pounds, wearing a black hoodie and a black mask.
The investigation remains ongoing, and police are asking anyone with information to call 911 or CrimeStoppers at 808-955-8300.
