Kim Kardashian has mocked critics who trashed her new legal TV series by posting screenshots of fans deciding to tune in after seeing the terrible reviews.

She plays a divorce lawyer in the Disney+ series All’s Fair, which was described as “so awful it almost seems contemptuous” by the Guardian, while the Times said it was “perhaps the worst TV series of all time”.

She asked her 354 million Instagram followers: “Have you watched the most critically acclaimed show of the year!?!?!? All’s Fair is streaming now.”

The show currently only gets a 5% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, although it also has a more respectable 66% from audiences.

‘Torn’

Kardashian shared a selection of fan messages about the show, including one joking about critics realizing that “their reviews of All’s Fair ended up getting people to watch and love the show.”

The series stars Sarah Paulson, Naomi Watts, Glenn Close, Niecy Nash and Teyana Taylor.

Another fan comment, highlighting the lineup, said that All’s Fair “dares to ask the question ‘must a show be good?’ and the answer is no, it’s not.”

The comment added: “Here we have legendary actresses giving the worst performances of their careers, it takes a special talent to overcome that inability. Amazeballs.”

This is Kardashian’s second foray into acting following her casting in the 12th season of American Horror Story in 2023, in which she appeared as a publicist, receiving mostly positive reviews.

All’s Fair reunites the star with American Horror Story showrunner Ryan Murphy, who was also behind hit series such as Glee and Pose.

The Huffington Post said the series was “ripped apart” by critics, with some giving it zero out of five. Its screenwriter Daniel Welsh said: “The show’s glossy sheen and layered cast might make you think it borders on ‘so bad it’s good’ territory, but it’s actually just a boring misfire.”

Other critics include Alison Herman, writing in Variety that it is a “clumsy, condescending version of rah-rah girlboss feminism”, while Angie Han of the Hollywood Reporter called Kardashian a “suitable wooden lead for Ryan Murphy’s empty and unforgivably boring drama”.

But undeterred, the reality star and businesswoman shared reactions from her fans, one of whom said she “pressed play immediately” after seeing a post saying the series debuted on Rotten Tomatoes with a paltry 0%.

She also included an Instagram post from BBC News quoting Ed Power from The Daily Telegraph, who wrote: “Ryan Murphy is the high priest of cheesy, vapid television, and this year he’s outdone himself.”

Another fan said: “Some of the worst acting I’ve ever seen in my life, alongside the most predictable plots and the most ridiculous style. I’m obsessed. I need 14 seasons.”

Kardashian ended her message with what is arguably the last laugh.

She shared a screenshot from Disney Hulu, stating that the series is currently the most-watched title on Disney+ worldwide, ranking first in 28 countries, including the United States.
