If you want to know if your computer can manage a certain game or execute creative software gently or how to understand what is wrong, one of the first things to check is your graphics card. Which graphics card do I have?
Knowing which graphics card you can help you determine if your computer can perform certain games or manage creative work such as video editing. It is also useful if you plan to upgrade or help out a problem.
To find your graphics card:
- OPEN DEPUTE Manager (Right -click on starter> Device manager).
- Look for a section called Adapters display and click on the arrow next. You will see your GPU listed there.
- If you want more details, right -click the GPU name and click Properties. This will give you information such as the manufacturer and the model.
You can also find the graphics card in other applications. In Task Manager, click on the Performance tab, then click GPU.
There are also third-party tools, such as the popular Techpowup GPU-Z, which does the work.
How to find your GPU if your computer does not light up
If your computer does not light up and you need to find your GPU, assuming that you use a laptop, your best bet is to search for the online model number or check the manual that has come with the original packaging for GPU information. Most laptops will also have a sticker indicating what type of GPU you have, but it does not give any detail like the model number.
If you use an office, you can open the case to check. Disconnect the power, blunder to zaper nothing and remove the side panel. Look for the large card connected to the motherboard downstairs. It will be the one with HDMI or DisplayPort ports. It’s your GPU.
You can unscrew it and remove it (there can be a lock by keeping it in place). On the map itself, there should be a label with the manufacturer’s name and the model number.
If it turns out that your GPU holds you, your next step is to understand why – do not assume that the fix is to buy a new office or laptop. Unless you want to upgrade, you need to reduce your performance problems to exclude your settings and software or games.
