Our verdict

The Kraftgeek Just Tap is an intelligent tripod Magsafe with a length between 13 and 66 inches (33-168 cm). This is impressive given the dimensions when it is retracted. The compact design causes a certain instability when it is completely extended, but when it is retracted, the tripod serves as a selfie stick because the Bluetooth remote control provided is magnetically attached.

The tripods can be a real pain if you want to take photos or videos with your iPhone when you are on the go, as standard models tend to be heavy and bulky. The right game consists of ten nested aluminum segments, creating a telescopic pole. This is inserted in a round plastic body, which in turn consists of three segments and folds in three feet of tripod to the touch of a button on the bottom.

This in itself is a fairly cool mechanism which allows an incredibly compact design: the whole pole has a diameter of only 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) once inserted, with the exception of the flat magsafe support with a diameter of 2.4 inch (6 cm) at the top and the remote control, which minimally protects one of the three feet. This roughly corresponds to the diameter of a relay of relay in athletics.

The Magsafe support is connected to the telescopic rod via a plastic rod and two hinges. Each hinge has just over 180 degrees of travel, so you can run your iPhone just over 360 degrees compared to the stem. This is very useful if, for example, you want to film yourself sitting at a table above your shoulder or using the kraftgeek, just type like a selfie stick.

Speaking of Magsafe: the adhesive force is surprisingly strong. My iPhone 16 Pro Max remains stable on the tripod even when I shake it brutally. Of course, you should not do too much, because sooner or later the iPhone could suddenly fly, but with normal use, I am not at all worried. However, if the tripod falls, the iPhone will also detach – although, of course, this risk exists with tripods of everything design.

So that you can also attach smartphones other than the iPhone, Kraftgeek includes a metal ring even Better than Magsafe magnets on the iPhone. As long as you have not stuck it, you should keep it at a distance from the Magsafe support for the tripod as a precaution; Otherwise, this could cost you a nail or two to remove the ring ring.

In addition to the metal ring, the range of delivery also includes a small Bluetooth remote control, which you can use to operate the trigger of your iPhone remotely. For transport, it is magnetically attached to one of the three basic elements of a recreation provided for this purpose and also serves as a trigger when using the tripod as a selfie stick. The remote control is loaded via USB-C, and the 50mAh battery lasts which looks like half a whole in this simple device. When the battery life is low, the integrated LED lights up in red.

The compact and light design also has drawbacks. Although the ten aluminum segments adapt almost perfectly, everyone has enough game to affect overall stability. In other words, the right tap is a bit wobbly to a maximum length. This is particularly noticeable when filming from the outside in moderate winds, whether or not you use the mode of action.

Due to its low weight, the center of gravity also moves very far as soon as you attach an iPhone, which is why the Kraftgeek tripod falls more easily than professional models. But it is not as if the simple tap would fall at the slightest breeze. You just need to be careful not to overthrow it with an awkward movement.

Finally and above all, the walls of aluminum segments are very thin. Although they are strong enough so that you probably do not run the risk of folding them in normal use, but if it falls and you stumble on it and you land on it, it is required to break. As with the previous point, you just have to make a little caution.

Given the price, however, it is not difficult to recommend kraftgeek, just type.
