White tent is erected outside Nancy Guthrie’s home 11 days after her abduction

A white forensic tent has been erected in front of Nancy Guthrie’s home, on the same spot where a frightening figure wearing a ski mask and thick gloves was seen approaching her home just 11 days ago.
The 84-year-old was kidnapped from his $1 million home in Tucson, Arizona, in the early hours of February 1.
Four police officers arrived at Guthrie’s home in an unmarked black vehicle around 8am on Thursday, the Daily Mail can reveal. Two uniformed officers carried a bag containing the tent, while the others brought additional equipment.
The large tent, which blocked the entrance to Guthrie’s home and the porch where investigators previously found blood matching his DNA, was taken down about an hour after it was erected.
As of now, there is no further indication of what exactly officials were looking for. But forensic tents are typically erected when investigators want to conceal a body, weapon or other critical evidence.
The porch was regularly stepped on by authorities and family members throughout the investigation. He was exposed to the outside elements, the blood found splattered on the ground having been dried by the sun.
A Pima County sheriff’s source told the Daily Mail: “It’s amateur time.”
Nancy’s daughter, Today Show host Savannah Guthrie, posted a heartbreaking video tribute to her mother just minutes after the tent news broke.
“Our sweet mom,” Savannah wrote. “We will never give up on him. Thank you for your prayers and hope.

A creepy masked figure was seen outside Nancy’s home on the day she disappeared.
Latest breakthrough comes after FBI On Wednesday, officers conducted a minute-by-minute search of the rugged scrubland around the home.
Investigators were inundated with thousands of tips after releasing doorbell camera footage showing the suspect approaching Nancy’s residence, then realizing the camera was recording and snatching him.
Several hundred detectives and agents were assigned to the investigation.
Until Tuesday, it appeared authorities were making little progress in determining what happened to Nancy or finding who was responsible.
Surveillance photoshow a masked person trying to hide a doorbell camera on his porch marked the first significant break in the case.
But the images do not show what happened to her and do not allow us to determine whether she is still alive.
FBI Director Kash Patel said his team spent days trying to find lost, corrupted or inaccessible footage.
Two investigators left her daughter Annie Guthrie’s home Wednesday with a paper grocery bag and a white trash bag.
One of them, who was still wearing blue protective gloves, also took a stack of letters from the roadside mailbox. They left without speaking to journalists.
Annie and her husband, Tommaso Cioni, who live several kilometers from Nancy, were the last to see the 84-year-old woman before she was kidnapped.
The large white tent blocks the entrance to Nancy’s house and her porch. It is unclear why the tent was erected or what evidence may have been spotted.

A black glove that resembles the one her captor wore in the chilling doorbell camera footage was found near Nancy’s home.
The item was found by detectives about a mile from the 84-year-old’s home on Wednesday, the tenth day of the search.
The Daily Mail understands the lone glove, found in a small shrub, was put in a bag, seized by authorities and subjected to DNA analysis.
Authorities have not given a definitive answer on who it belonged to.
Investigators are expanding their request for security video from Nancy’s neighbors in Catalina Foothills, KOLD reported.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department asked people to check video from their cameras between 9 p.m. and midnight on January 11. It was almost three weeks before Nancy disappeared.
They also requested footage from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on January 31, hours before Nancy’s abduction.
Investigators said a suspicious vehicle was spotted on Via Entrada around 10 a.m. on Jan. 31.

Savannah and her siblings, Camron and Annie, in a video they shared online asking for help
Savannah, Annie and their brother Camron have indicated their willingness to pay a ransom.
It is unclear whether the ransom notes demanding money with deadlines already passed were genuine and whether the family had any contact with whoever took Nancy.
Sheriff Chris Nanos described Nancy as mentally healthy but with limited mobility. She takes several medications, raising urgent concerns about her well-being without them.
This is breaking news. Check back for updates.
