Lakers to be sold to Dodgers owner at $10bn valuation, per reports | NBA

The bus family concludes an agreement to sell a majority participation in the Los Angeles Lakers in an evaluation of $ 10 billion, ESPN reported on Wednesday, marking the end of an era for one of the most influential families in the NBA.

Mark Walter, CEO and president of the TWG Global portfolio company, should take up the majority property under the agreement, said that NBA insider Charania’s Lakers have already been owners of the Los Angeles League, and is also the main owner of the Los Angeles WNBA.

The Lakers did not immediately respond to a request for comments.

The late Jerry Buss bought the Lakers in 1979 and transformed it into one of the most popular and precious franchises of all professional sports, winning five championships during their “showtime” time now iconic in the 1980s.

Her daughter, Jeanie Buss, took the post of principal owner after the death of Jerry Buss in 2013, making her one of the most powerful women in sport. Modern Lakers have continued to attract big stars with a mixed success, especially with LeBron James, with whom the team won the Title NBA 2020. This year, the team has swayed a successful exchange of the star of Dallas Mavericks, Luka Dončić.

Jeanie Buss will remain governor after the sale, Charania reported.
