“Do you have a charger?” is a plea heard in offices, houses and cafes around the world, although often in different languages. What these desperate people really mean is a cable, but the common language for a load cable is only a “charger”. What would you say if a real charger included an integrated cable so that everything you need is included in a neat and practical package?

Electricity banks have recently been part of the enthusiasm of the addition of cables integrated into technology, and this has now reached the world of USB-C wall chargers. The maximum load power of 65W is only available with the USB-C port where you will need a separate cable. The integrated cable provides 60W and the 22.5W USB-A connection. Of course, several devices can be billed at the same time.

65W and 60W are good for the rapid loading of a MacBook Air, and even a MacBook Pro can receive a full load over time. The 22.5W is sufficient to quickly fill an iPhone, but the fact that it is a USB-A connection means a fast load is not supported. We therefore recommend that you use one of the USB-C outlets to quickly load your iPhone-the Retractable USB-C cable will only adapt on the iPhone 15 and more recent models. Use a USB-C to Lightning cable for older iPhones.

If two devices are connected, the 65W are divided between the USB-C load cable and the USB-C port in a 45 to 20W ratio. With the USB-A connection and the load cable, the report is 18 W to 45 W. When you do not use the cable but the two ports, only 7.5 W is available by port. This also applies to three devices. Here, only the integrated charging cable has a 45 W output, the other two only 7.5 W each.

We measured an iPhone 15 to 51% after 30 minutes, an 11 -inch iPad Pro at 34% and a MacBook Air M3 at 47%.

The load electronics are controlled by a Ganinfinity chip with a circuit which includes protection against over / sub-tension, short-circuit, on / under-crown, underloading and temperature.

Should you buy the Nexode 65W charger with a USB-C cable?

It is really useful when the chargers are delivered with an integrated cable, even if the cable is not super long for less than 30 inches. The shape of the cube is designed so that it is firmly in the socket and does not exceed beyond the external frame. There was no negative surprise when we load our three Apple devices. The only boring thing is that the supply distribution: the USB-C port (without integrated cable) is seriously slowed down when a device is connected to the USB-A port. A smarter load distribution could have been chosen here. This is our only point of criticism.
