Leavitt Highlights Media’s Skewed Coverage of GOP During Schumer Shutdown – RedState
The mainstream media is clearly engaged in a propaganda war against Republicans over Schumer’s shutdown, with the numbers showing overwhelmingly positive coverage for Democrats compared to the Republican Party.

They noted that “regarding pro-Democratic statements,” there were 83 in alphabet media outlets. On the other hand, on these same networks, there were only 12 statements favorable to the Republicans.
The Trump White House reacted to the analysis, with press secretary Karoline Leavitt sharing the results on her X account. She wrote: “This is what we are facing!”

Given the biased media coverage of the election, it’s really no surprise that Tuesday night’s results showed Democrats scoring victories in New York, New Jersey, Virginia and California.
With increasing pressure from President Trump and perhaps with the election results in mind, the House Republican Study Committee (RSC) steering committee is considering possibly trying to pass some sort of short-term funding bill to extend the clean continuing resolution at least until January 2026 and end all the chaos caused by Democrats, as RedState reported.
If you’re old enough, you’ll remember that these media outlets sang a much different tune when former President Barack Obama (D) was in office and Republicans were in the minority, and therefore held the power to shut down the government.
Here’s Obama in 2013, when he called Republicans “blackmail” into shutting down the government.
“No Congress before this one has ever been so irresponsible as to threaten default, to threaten to cripple the economy, to suggest that America not pay its bills just to try to blackmail a president into giving them concessions,” Obama said.
“Congress must pay our bills on time. Congress must pass a budget on time. Congress must end its crisis-to-crisis government,” he added. “If Republicans don’t like the law, they can use the usual channels and processes to try to change it. That’s why we have elections.”
Oh, the howls that took place in 2013 and again in 2019 from the mainstream media, accusing the Republican Senate of holding the country hostage, as this video from the Media Research Center reminds us.
The same tactic should now be used to blame Democrats. But instead we have the pocket media putting a pro-Democratic spin on how SNAP benefits are running out and how air traffic controllers aren’t getting paid.
