Scott Jennings Reminds Paul Begala That Bill Clinton Backed Work Requirements For Medicaid
Republican strategist Scott Jennings told the former Clinton administration official on Tuesday that former president Bill Clinton had previously pushed to work requirements for the beneficiaries of Medicaid.
The Senate adopted a reconciliation bill by a vote of 51 to 50 Tuesday, the vice-president JD Vance broke the link in his capacity as president of the Senate. The Reconciliation Bill also includes provisions reducing more than $ 1.6 billion of expenditure, with Medicaid reforms in the bill, including working requirements for certain benefits of services.

President Bill Clinton campaigned on social protection reform in 1992, but vetoed twice the legislation on social protection reform before capitulating and signing a third version of the bill in the summer of 1996.
“The working people, the people who try, the people who need it, the people who take care of the children and the other family members, these people are protected,” said Jennings. “We protect the safety net of those who play the system, or should not even be in the country legally.”
