Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 Review: A Game-Changer
Surprisingly, the basic configuration has 12 GB of RAM. It is not quite that the 16 GB that you get in some Windows Snapdragon X -Powerred portable computers like the next HP Omnibook 5 16 – but for Chromeos, it’s more than enough. Meanwhile, the basic configuration is delivered with 128 GB of storage, and the improved model has a 256 GB semiconductor drive.
The performance is solid. The speed counter is a reference that tests browser performance, which is important for Chromeos because everything is built around the Chrome browser. The Lenovo Chromebook plus 14 was about three times faster than the Celeron N4500, as tested in the Asus Chromebook CX15, and about half the Apple M4 speed in a MacBook Air. I also tested some heavier Android games like Diablo: immortal And Mobile PUBGwhich played well with the parameters to the maximum. It is not surprising, but it shows that this chip can manage almost everything you throw. Like most laptops powered by arms, the Chromebook plus 14 is just as fast on the battery as when connected.
Google and Lenovo also praise the capabilities of the AI of this device, because the Mediatek chip is capable of 50 billions of operations per second (high), a standard respected by almost all its competitors Windows and Mac. For this reason, the Chromebook plus 14 has some exclusive features on the IA devices that you will not find in other ChromeBooks. One of the most useful is the intelligent group, which can identify the different applications and tabs you have opened and intelligently group them in separate offices. It’s pretty practical. A quick insert is less interesting, which gives you unnecessarily easy access to the images generated by the AI. Beyond that, it also has the selection of AI features which are delivered with all the portable computers Chromebook Plus, such as the useful contribution where I stopped.
The efficiency of Kompanio Ultra 910 also shines in battery life tests. It has a 60 -hour battery, which leads to an impressive execution time. Lenovo and Google claim that it is the most durable chromebook of all time, and it is the best I have tested, lasting 16 hours in a video reading test. It might not last as long as the MacBook Air M4 or laptops like the Asus Zenbook S 16, powered by the latest Intel Ultra Series 2 base fleas, but it’s in the stadium. This is important because before the recent increase in laptops to ARM (such as modern macbooks), chromebooks were known for battery life. This was largely due to the way the light chromeos were to run. It’s nice to see that Chromebooks are back in the running.

Chromebook plus 14 has another tip in its sleeve. Unlike the janky speakers presented in almost all Chromebook, this Lenovo has a quad-spa configuration and is the first to use Dolby Atmos. These are surprisingly good speakers –almost As good as the audio of the 13 -inch MacBook Air, offering a well -balanced sound that even has bass notes. These are the best speakers on a laptop of this price.
Many of my points have been made in the context of the price, and there is a reason for that. At $ 650 for basic configuration or $ 100 more to improve RAM and storage (and add the touch screen), the Lenovo Chromebook plus 14 reaches a price that Windows laptops have had trouble approaching. There are contenders, but the Chromebook plus 14 pleads for chromebooks at this price, offering several features and a quality of global construction that you will not find in competitors. If you are ready to kiss Chromeos, it is simply the best that the ecosystem has to offer.
