Letitia James Shows Up to the Courthouse, Enters Plea, and Gives Comically Bad Speech – RedState
New York AG Letitia James appeared at a Virginia courthouse Friday to plead not guilty to federal mortgage fraud charges. The brash and outspoken Democrat then addressed a crowd of supporters, delivering a comically tone-deaf speech in which she claimed the justice system was “weaponized” against her because self-awareness is apparently not something she possesses.
The overacting here is truly hilarious to watch. I don’t know who wrote this for her, but they should understand that James is not Martin Luther King, Jr.

JAMES: So there is no fear today. No fear. No fear! No fear! No fear! Because I believe that justice will rain down like water, and righteousness like a mighty stream. And I’m here to say that my work, my work and everything I do, throughout my public career, I have stood up for the rights of New Yorkers and Americans, and I will not let that deter me. I won’t do it, I won’t let it dissuade me! I won’t get distracted! I will do my job every day, and that is why I am returning to New York, because there is work to be done to defend the rule of law. God bless you and thank you all!
“Shall righteousness rain down like water, and righteousness like a mighty stream?” Really, is that the line she’s walking? Because, as RedState reported, James’ niece who lives in his alleged mortgage fraud home is a fugitive from the law with a criminal record a mile long. This is not about fighting for racial equality, which has absolutely nothing to do with this case. It’s not about “all of us,” as if the Trump administration is going after random people for non-criminal reasons. She is a corrupt politician who repeatedly abused her office, only to be held accountable for one of her alleged legal transgressions.

Keep in mind that James took office pledging to oust President Donald Trump now by any means necessary, real evidence of wrongdoing be damned. The idea that she is a paragon of virtue when it comes to the law is laughable. She was at the forefront of breaking down borders when it came to using the justice system against her political opponents. James doesn’t have the opportunity to call a timeout and proclaim his neutrality the moment the blowback arrives.
Additionally, I was assured that no one is above the law. In fact, James went so far as to write fake poetry mocking Trump on this point.
Roses are red.
Violets are blue.
No one is above the law.
Even if you think the rules don’t apply to you.

So yes, she is not a woman who deserves sympathy, nor a a single ounce of deference. Whatever standards existed, she used a hammer to enforce them. James considered himself untouchable, probably never believing that Trump could be re-elected. These chickens are coming home to roost, and while I’m not sure a Norfolk-based jury will review this case fairly, for now it’s being subjected to the same process she so obviously used as a weapon against others. What about poetry?
