Liberal Media Just Made a Big Admission About the Schumer Shutdown
As we reported, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) appeared on ABC Sunday with Jonathan Karl and neutralized the Democrats and their “No Kings” performance with some reality. He pointed out that if President Donald Trump were a king, Democrats couldn’t have pulled off this ridiculous event.

The simple fact that the Democrats were able to organize their protests and were not stopped refutes their argument.
Additionally, as Johnson explained, if Trump were a king, the federal government would be open; it would not continue to be closed.

Johnson explained that the House had done its job. Now it’s time for the Senate to do theirs, but it’s Democrats who are voting no.
“The House did its job exactly a month ago today, September 19. We passed the proper resolution,” he said. “Democrats voted 11 times, with the exception of three Democrats in the Senate, they voted 11 times to shut down the government and end these programs,” Johnson said.
But there is another element in the discussion that Democrats will not like. That’s when Jon Karl said this:

“Democrats did not vote for the clean financing bill,” Karl observed. “They chose to shut down the government to fight for health care and the other things you mentioned.” Oops.
Johnson emphasized that it’s Republicans who are fighting for health care, to preserve Medicaid, to make it work better and not give it to illegal aliens, for example. The Democrats want to turn all this upside down with their current demands. They want to take the government hostage and obtain through a shutdown what they could not obtain through regular voting on other bills. And it doesn’t even make sense since they voted for clean CRs in the past.
It is above all the leader of the senatorial minority Chuck Schumer (Democrat-NY) who is running for the left base in order not to lose his seat to Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (Democrat-NY).
Now, of course, the fact that Democrats chose to close the government is clear from the vote: It takes 60 votes to open the government on a clean continuing resolution, and they continue to vote against it. However, that hasn’t stopped Democrats from trying to shift blame to Republicans. But when it gets to the point where ABC has to admit that it’s about the Democrats, then you know the Democrats’ message on the issue is a failure.
They are no longer even able to support this media narrative.
