After a week in an Italian hospital, American skier Lindsey Vonn has returned to the United States to continue her recovery after suffering a fractured tibia during the 2026 Winter Olympics.
Vonn, who came out of retirement in 2024 to compete in these Olympics, has undergone four surgeries on her injured left leg since the accident.
She was already competing due to a torn ACL she suffered while warming up for the race.
“I haven’t stood in over a week…I’ve been in a hospital bed, immobile since my run. And even though I’m not able to stand yet, being back on my floor feels amazing,” Vonn posted on Instagram.
