The favorite of the Celtics fans expected to leave the NBA after Deal Falls originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Boston Celtics had veterans on their summer league list. This includes some players who were part of last year’s team, including Jordan Walsh and Baylor Scheierman. This also includes the NBA veterans, notably Kenneth Lofton Jr., Isaiah Wong and Charles Bassey.
Bassey stood out in the Celtics summer league. In three games with the team, he collected an average of 15.3 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks per game while pulling 70.4% of the field. Despite his exceptional performance, a director of the Celtics told Keith Smith of Spotrac that they did not know if the Celtics could sign it.
“Since he was added to our team so late, it was a great race for him,” the director told Smith. “No idea if we will have space for him or not. But we would be delighted to continue working with Charles and see if we can make something work.”
Although the Celtics have the interest of keeping Lower with the team, it seems that any potential agreement has passed. The European initiate of basketball Luca d’Allesandro reported that the bass agent Marc McNeil revealed that the center was in contact with a team abroad and apparently was preparing for a departure from the NBA.
“Charles Bassey’s agent Marc McNeil, revealed in a statement for (Meridian Sport Srbija) that his client was in negotiation with the supporter and that the Blacks and Whites are his absolute priority,” wrote Alesandro. “He also mentioned that there were interests of other Euroligue teams.”
