Belkin’s latest USB-C hub has a monitor privacy button

There is a tonne of USB Type-C hubs that all have similar ports and designs, but Belkin just introduced another one at CES 2026 with a rarer feature. It has a one-click privacy button to turn off external monitors, which is convenient for shared workspaces or presentations.
The new Belkin Connect 8-Port Dual Display USB-C Hub is similar to every other USB hub you’ve probably seen over the past few years. Using a single USB Type-C cable, it has USB 3.0 Type-A ports, an HDMI connector, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, and USB Type-C passthrough ports. You can connect two 4K displays at 60 GHz with a compatible Windows PC, or a single 4K display when using a Mac.
The hub can transmit up to 100W of power to the connected device, which is particularly useful for PCs with limited ports available, or for phones and tablets with only one port in total. For example, you can run a USB power cable from the wall to the hub and then connect the hub to a laptop.
Belkin Connect 11-in-1 USB-C Pro Dock review: All the essentials, and more
The Belkin Connect 11-in-1 USB-C Pro Dock has almost every data and AV connection a laptop user could want. With only a small list of desired features for the next generation, I think Belkin has put together a fantastic USB-C workstation on the go.
This is all pretty standard for a USB Type-C hub, but there is one unique feature: a monitor privacy button. Any external monitors passing through the hub are instantly disconnected when the button is pressed, without the need to remove cables. This can be handy if you frequently use projectors in a workplace or school, or if you need to step away from your desk for a minute without a complete locking and unlocking process every time.
Belkin said in its announcement: “Designed for modern hybrid work setups, the Belkin 8-in-1 MST USB-C Multiport Hub expands a single USB-C port into a full-featured productivity workstation with support for dual 4K displays at 60Hz. The hub connects up to eight devices at once, including monitors, storage, Ethernet, and peripherals, while providing up to 100W of power to keep a laptop charged during use. with a single touch, providing an extra layer of on-demand security for shared or public environments.
The Belkin Connect 8-Port Dual Display USB-C Hub (model INC027) will be available for $100 from the company’s online store and select retailers, starting in Q2 2026. That’s expensive for a USB-C hub: several cheaper options can also power up to two displays, like the UGREEN 7-in-1 Dock.
