This week in Apple history
On December 14, 2017, Apple launched the iMac Pro. This was announced last June at WWDC. It was discontinued in 2021.

The emails discussed on the show were about the iMac, except for the last one.
I was quite upset by your article, especially since I had just purchased my fourth iMac. I have to buy one every 10 years because I can’t update it. Besides the iMac, I also have a MacBook, an iPad, and an iPhone. So I’m all for it.

Too bad it is necessary to write about the embers of the iMac as we knew and loved it. What happened to the Apple created for creatives? You know, like starving artists and that kind of stuff?

I bought my 27″ iMac in 2020. It’s been great but I’d love to replace it. I’m still waiting for my iMac to be replaced, hoping this will be the year. (I’ve never owned a desktop that long.) I think there are a lot of us!

The iMac is a bad long-term investment. I told people: buy a great monitor that will last ten years or more, upgrade the computer case (Mini or Studio) if necessary. A much better investment. Let the iMac die. It was a good deal at the time. No more.

The iMac is treated like the unwanted stepchild. I’m still using my 2019 27 Intel-based iMac while hoping for a new big-screen iMac. – Hope dies hard, what else can I say.

My wife and I made a “beef” Wellington which has been a hit with us and meat-eating family members for many years. It’s a bit of work preparing the seitan filling, mushroom surround, and creamy spinach sauce, but it pays off in the end (trust me!).
