Man, 37, slashed in face on Q train in Flatbush

A 37-year-old man was punched in the face during a confrontation on a Brooklyn subway train early Saturday, police said.

The attack comes as police try to control a surge in attacks on the city’s subway lines.

The victim was on a Manhattan-bound Q train, entering the Church Ave subway station. in Flatbush around 6:30 a.m. when another commuter confronted him.

The suspect pulled out a sharp object and struck the victim in the face, police said.

Injured and bleeding, the victim got off the train at Church Avenue and alerted the police. Emergency Medical Services rushed him to Kings County Hospital, where he was treated for a minor injury.

Her attacker remained on the train, then got off at the next stop on Beverly Road, police said.

What led to the cuts was not immediately clear.

The slasher was described as a black man wearing a navy blue jacket, black shorts and white sneakers.

No arrests had been made as of late Saturday morning.

On October 17, Judge Jackson, an emotionally disturbed homeless man with an extensive criminal history, was arrested for allegedly stabbing a 51-year-old man in the back during an argument on a Manhattan rush-hour subway train.

Jackson, 30, was apprehended the next day after being identified as the attacker in the D train attack.

Cops charged Jackson with assault.

Attacks on urban subways have jumped 2% this year and more than 10% in the past month, according to recent NYPD statistics.

Over the past month, NYPD Transit officers have investigated 43 assaults on the subway, four more than the same period last year.

As of October 19, police were investigating 462 attacks in transit, nine more than last year.

However, overall transit crime decreased by 3 percent, officials said.
