A 37-year-old man died after being pulled from a fountain in Flushing Meadow-Corona Park in Queens Friday morning, police said.
The man — whose identity has not yet been released — entered the Fountain of the Planets around 10 a.m., according to police. When he didn’t resurface someone called 911, cops said.
FDNY divers pulled the man from the water. Medics rushed him to an area hospital in critical condition. He died at the hospital, police said.
The Fountain of the Planets was built for the 1964 World’s Fair and is fed by the Flushing River.
