Matthew Stafford won’t be part of Rams’ joint practice with Cowboys

Sean Mcvay will not have to worry that Matthew Stafford grabs a pass twice and stumbles on the goal line during a joint practice with the Dallas cowboys.
This event inducing anxiety occurred last year when the RAMs practiced against cowboys.
On Tuesday, the Rams go to Oxnard again to train against the cowboys before Saturday’s pre-season match at the Sofi stadium.
But the problem of the back which has sidelined staff throughout the training camp will keep it out of the field.
When the Rams spend a joggound on Monday, Stafford will continue to work alone, Mcvay said on Sunday after the final public training in Loyola Marymount.
“He is able to do a little more, which is good, and things are progressing well,” said Mcvay. “But he will not participate in the joggot because he will do other things during this period.”
Mcvay said that Stafford’s training sessions with trainers have included static launch exercises, flowing on a treadmill, a light cardio and basic work.
“It’s more just a functional force surrounding the region while making sure you do nothing to withdraw, depending on the trajectory it does,” said Mcvay. “But we are impatient to recover it and relieve it in football, let’s hope, in the near future.”
The quarter-Arrière Jimmy Groppolo will direct the offensive of the first team against the cowboys, Stetson Bennett the second.
Mcvay does not play starters or other important players in pre-season matches. Joint practices with cowboys and next week with the loaders will allow RAMS starters to get shots before the September 7 opening match against Houston Texans.
“It is really advantageous for us to be able to obtain our starters which would be close to the equivalent of a match,” said Mcvay.
Last year, at least three minor skirmishes broke out between the cowboys offensive and the defense of the RAMs. No one has interrupted training for more than a few moments.
After two weeks of training in camp training sessions, the goalkeeper of the offensive Kevin Dotson welcomes the opportunity to go “full” against another team, “knowing that you are not going to injure your team by going hard.”
“I really want to see how I rely against high caliber players and people from other teams,” said Dotson.
During training, which does not present a tackle, the Rams and the Cowboys will work on stockings and a regular distance, third trials, interior series of the 20 yards, two minutes and other situations, said Mcvay.
“It is beneficial, to be able to obtain what is inevitably present in most games,” he said, adding: “They were a group with which we worked before it goes very well.”
