Mayor Jacob Frey Doubles Down After ICE Shooting, Makes Things Worse – RedState
Mayor Jacob Frey made despicable comments immediately after the shooting of Renee Good in Minneapolis, calling it “murder” and urging residents in his city to call for calm and wait for the facts. He also cursed ICE and told them to “get the hell out of” the city.
After the new cell phone video of Renee Good’s shooting in Minnesota, Democrats should have stopped pushing their divisive rhetoric and apologized for their lies.
But they didn’t. In fact, their divisions have deepened and become indefensible. I’ve written before about the despicable graphic the Democrats posted on their X account, completely leaving out the affected agent.

What Mayor Jacob Frey said Friday showed that Democrats are not living in reality. Although he ultimately seemed to accept that the officer had been struck by “Renée,” he did not care about the law or the officer’s injuries, which he downplayed. It’s sick.

“I mean, the ICE agent walked away with a hip injury that he might as well have gotten from closing a refrigerator door with his hips,” Frey said derisively.
“He was not injured,” he said. “Give me a break… He walked out of there in one step.”
Frey seemed to be laughing at the fact that immediately after being hit, the agent appeared to jump, as he briefly limped away. How can you be mayor, speak like this and claim to care about the law? This is uncommon madness, especially for a mayor whose city has seen things burned to the ground during riots in the past. Democrats have moved from the “he wasn’t hit” claim to the “oh, well, he wasn’t really hurt” part of the shifting narrative.
Frey doesn’t know how badly the agent was injured. But even if the officer was lucky and wasn’t seriously injured, that doesn’t justify hitting him or negate his right to defend himself. No, he doesn’t need to wait until he dies to act.
Besides, who hurts their hip closing a refrigerator door, and what kind of lame grip is that?
I think it’s safe to say that people found his response seriously distorted.

But Democrats want to keep the outrage going against ICE and President Donald Trump, no matter who it might harm. And that leads to things like anti-ICE mobs damaging hotels while looking for ICE agents to harass Friday night. The crowd even chased police down the street at one point, throwing objects at them.
