McConnell Doing Everything He Can to Block Voter ID
Pro-Trump Republican Kentucky Senate candidate Nate Morris said Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY), whom he hopes to replace in the Senate, is doing everything he can to block the SAVE America Act and enact national voter ID to vote.
Morris spoke to Breitbart News Saturday host Matthew Boyle as Trump urged the Senate to pass the SAVE America Act.
He wrote on Truth Social: “The United States Senate should focus, exclusively if necessary, on THE SAVE AMERICA ACT!!! That’s what everyone wants!!! President DJT.”
“We have someone in Mitch McConnell who is making his final push to do everything he can to oppose the president,” Morris said. Breitbart News Saturday.
“His opposition is nothing other than jealousy, pettiness. It is simply a matter of taking another shot at the president when he leaves,” he continued.
Boyle noted that Senate Republicans would seek to preserve the 60-vote threshold for the filibuster by implementing what is known as the “talking filibuster,” which would require Democrats to continually speak on the Senate floor to prevent Republicans from voting on the Save America Act. He added that Democrats would try to abolish the filibuster and pass their favorite election bills, making Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C., states, if they were to gain power.
Morris said, “Our campaign has been very clear about this. We are the only candidate in this race saying we have to neutralize the zombie filibuster, we have to get rid of it.”
Adding to Boyle’s point, Morris said that if it hadn’t been for the then-Senators. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ), Democrats reportedly abolished the filibuster under then-President Joe Biden.
Morris said Kentucky needs a “clean break” “from what we had with Mitch McConnell.”
