Nancy Guthrie kidnapping suspect may have made a prior visit

The man suspected of kidnapping Nancy Guthrie on February 1 appears to have already made a visit to the missing woman’s home in southern Arizona.
Investigators have released photos and videos recovered from a damaged doorbell camera Feb. 10 showing an armed man wearing a backpack, ski mask and gloves early in the morning before NBC News host Samantha Guthrie’s 84-year-old mother disappeared.
ABC News reported Monday that a separate image of the person they believe to be a suspect showed her outside Guthrie’s home at some point before her apparent kidnapping. He is not wearing a backpack in this photo.

The suspect may have been surprised to see Guthrie’s doorbell camera during his first visit and changed his mind, ABC sources speculated. On his return trip, the subject attempted to obscure the camera with foliage.
The authorities have announced some clarifications in this matter which remained mysterious for more than three weeks. A $200,000 reward is being offered for information leading to Guthrie or her kidnapper.
Investigators asked Guthrie’s neighbors to examine their home’s security systems dating back to Jan. 1 for possible clues.
