Memphis Grizzlies’ Ja Morant lashes out at coaching staff after NBA Cup defeat | NBA Cup

Memphis Grizzlies All-Star guard Ja Morant took aim at his own coaches when asked about his struggles during the team’s 117-112 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night.
Morant went 3 of 14 from the field — and 0 of 6 from three-point range — en route to being held to just eight points in the loss.
When asked what he noticed about the game, Morant told reporters to “go ask the coaching staff.”
He repeated a similar version of this response four times before asking what could have been done differently to achieve a better result in the match.
“According to them, honestly, I probably won’t play against me,” Morant said. “That’s basically what the message was after [the game]. It’s cool.”
Morant is averaging 20.8 points and 6.7 assists while logging a career-low 28.5 minutes in six games under Grizzlies coach Tuomas Iisalo. The latter succeeded Taylor Jenkins at the end of last season.
