Jennifer Lawrence Proves the Best Spring Flats Look Just As Good With Sweats and Jeans

You’ve heard of dressing from day to night, but what about day to day? On January 9, Jennifer Lawrence doubled down on her wardrobe inspiration with just one adjustment.
During an outing in New York, Lawrence was photographed as cool and effortless as ever in wide-leg oatmeal sweatpants, which she elevated for possible paparazzi sightings with a Jacquemus leopard faux fur coat and brown suede bag, the ultimate Winter 2025-2026 asset. Of course, it wouldn’t be a J.Law look without an unexpected pop of color and texture, which she achieved with a pair of turquoise blue ostrich leather flat slippers from KHAITE, which retail for $1,980.
While this vibrant shoe is a big change from the basic high-top Uggs she wore earlier in the week, they fit perfectly with her go-to shoe silhouette for spring. If there are luxury leather flats on the market that fit the foot, with no arch support and a barely-there sole, chances are Lawrence has a pair in his closet.
This look would be enough to spark an entire essay on dressing sweatpants for public consumption, but Lawrence had other plans. Later in the day, she swapped her cozy pants for a pair of casual dark jeans for a bike ride, showing off the cerulean socks she wore to keep her feet warm in her flats.
It was probably a smart move, considering the sweatpants had piled up under the actor’s shoes and could have gotten caught in the bike’s gears. Safety should always come first, which is why I have to Karen come out for a second and beg Jennifer Lawrence to put her helmet on next time.
Aside from the lack of proper headwear, Lawrence’s second look proved that sweatpants and jeans are practically interchangeable this spring, when paired with the right shoes and accessories. Aside from a bike ride, I can’t think of a single thing Lawrence could do in her casual ’90s jeans during the day that she couldn’t accomplish in her sweats. And don’t say “go to the office” unless you wear turquoise ostrich flats and leopard fur to your workplace.
