Record number expected to travel for Fourth of July weekend

A record number of travelers is expected during the next weekend of July 4, said travel experts in the region.
According to its website, the AAA group plans that “on July 4, trips in 2025 will be the busiest of all time, with 72.2 million people traveling at least 80 kilometers from their home.”
“A large part of these travelers, 61.6 million, should lead, establishing a new record for traveling on the way. Airplaces should also be at a record, with 5.84 million passengers flying in the country,” said the site.
The AAA bases its forecasts on travel from June 28 to July 6-a time of time that spokesperson Molly Hart for Aaa Auto Club in Illinois and Indiana said: “was based on data that we have on pre-reservations for travel”.
“On July 4 being on Friday, people will extend the week and we chose to make these two -week forecasts that we made with the other holidays,” said Hart about the creation of his travel forecasts on Saturday, June 28. “People choose more and make it a priority and some have already left trips that will be eight or nine days, based on a number of factors, including the capacity of peoples to do work.”
Hart said that here in Illinois, the recording of break -ups is also at the pressure.
“We are again reaching historical levels with 4.2 million Illinoisans that strike the roads, heavens or rails – which is up 104,000 compared to last year,” said Hart. “Driving is the popular means of traveling with nearly 3.9 million things that take a road trip, with nearly 152,000, which is comparable to last year.”
Hart noted that the prediction is that “257,000 will take a bus, a train or a cruise” in this holiday season.
“Speaking of cruises, the cruise in Alaska is really popular at the moment because it’s the high season and many people are going at the moment,” she said.
Hart said that the figures that should travel are powered by a number of factors, including gas prices, which, on June 28, were on average $ 3.48 the Gallon in Illinois. Down 39 cents a year ago.
“Chicago’s price is $ 3.84, down 52 cents a year ago, but gas prices do not dissuade people from making a trip,” she said. “What we see is that many people remain more domestic – traveling to the United States. They favor travel on other things. With the economy, people decrease the number of trips, but go for prolonged time.
“People do not reserve as much for the first class, but make follies for upgrading hotels or other things,” added Hart.
She noted that a record number of people traveled during the Memorial Day weekend this year. With a record number planned to travel during the weekend of July 4, many people are in motion during the holidays.
“We do not know how long this record trend we have seen will continue, but people favor travel and may perhaps budget differently with other things so that they can go somewhere,” she added. “Maybe next year, it will not record the breakup, but now they do other things. Maybe they don’t dine as much during the year to save money for travel.”
Regarding the best time to hit the road, Hart recommends that people “get up and leave”.
“You want to leave before 10 am,” she said. “Getting back, you want to leave before 11 am”
