Yaniv Levi, a representative of the Histadrut, the National Union of Israel, told Kan that the union planned to meet the families of the hostages on Monday to consider future actions.

Gaza hostage families and victims of the October 7 massacre announced on Sunday that they would launch a national closure the following Sunday to protest against the decision of the security firm to occupy Gaza City.

At a press conference in front of the Kirya military headquarters in Tel Aviv, families represented by the October Council said that on Sunday, August 17, would mark a national closure to protest against the security firm to occupy the city of Gaza, which, according to them, endangers the life of hostages and soldiers.

Families have said that closure should include private companies, organizations and unions.

Will the histadrut join the strikes?

Yaniv Levi, a representative of the histadrut, the national union of Israel, told Kan that the union planned to meet the hostages of hostages on Monday to continue future actions.

“This problem is in our hearts and our blood. Tomorrow, we will come with other actors in the economy. Wherever we can help, we will help you.”

“I call everyone to see how they can help families. We have the right – and the duty – to listen to each word. If, God does not like it, I was in their place, I do not know how I would act. They were simply abandoned,” Levi told Kan.

In July of last year, the chief of Histadrut Arnon Bar-David launched his support behind a march provided by members of the hostage family and called on the Israeli public to join them. Bar-David also said that he would provide resource march and appointed a senior team to support walkers and organizers.

The security firm approves the Gaza plan

Last Friday, the security firm approved the Netanyahu plan to occupy the city of Gaza and adopted five principles to end the war.

These include disarming Hamas, returning all the hostages, both alive and murdered, demilitizing the Gaza Strip, Israel maintains security control over the Gaza Strip and the existence of a civil government which is not controlled or by Hamas or the Palestinian authority.

The families of hostages and the Israeli opposition figures criticized the plan, the appellant “a disaster” which would endanger the remaining hostages in terrorist captivity.

It is a story in development. Eve Young and Yael Halfon contributed to this report.
