Michigan’s Derrick Moore on Ohio State’s title — Not a ‘real win’

Las Vegas – Michigan’s defensive winger Derrick Moore joked Thursday that the national title of Ohio State was not a “real victory” because the Buckeyes did not defeat the Wolverines along the way.
During the regular season final last season, Michigan amaze the highly favored Buckeyes in Columbus 13-10 for its fourth consecutive victory in the rivalry.
As the eighth seeded, Ohio State has evolved in the first enlarged qualifying series of 12 teams, depositing four consecutive victories to win the first national championship of the program in a decade.
Michigan won the national title in 2023, the last year of the four -team playoffs.
“First of all, I would like to congratulate them on the victory,” said Moore during the Big Ten Media Days, noting that he “hoped” that the Buckeyes will lose in the playoffs. “But, you know, it’s not a real victory if you don’t fight us.”
He added: “If the expansion of the playoffs was not there, [Ohio State] would not have won the national championship. So we look at him roughly like, you have all had a nice easy race. But we all helped you along the way. We have almost helped you build. But after that [loss]They dominated all those who came before them. So, I have to give them all the credit. “”
Michigan coach Sherrone Moore was later questioned about Derrick Moore’s remarks, has granted Buckeyes’ full credit for their championship.
“They won the national title. They were the best team at the end of the year, so I give them all the credit,” said Sherrone Moore. “They deserved well. They played very well. They obviously won everything. So, congratulations to them.”
Derrick Moore had a passing of pass in Wolverines’ victory at the Horseshoe, because the high attack on Ohio State failed to score after half. Subsequently, a fight between the two teams broke out when the Michigan players gathered on the Block O logo in the midfield and planted their flag. Police used peppery gas to cancel the fight, which lasted about five minutes and left players and coaches on both bloody sides.
“I feel like I can have [done] a better job as a chief not to let it go out [of control] Like that, “said Derrick Moore.” But at the same time … I have the impression that it is roughly why people come to Michigan or Ohio State. … rivalry, atmosphere. “”
Derrick Moore also laughed at the Ohio State representative Josh Williams, who presented a bill, which ranked the flag of the Ohio stadium around the Buckey football games like a crime, also made fun of the Ohio State.
“It was really crazy,” said Derrick Moore. “But all I have to say is that it’s Ohio for you.”
Sherrone Moore also addressed the incident and the fight of flag plants, stressing Thursday that “there will be no more flag plantation, there will be no more seizure of the flag”.
