Microsoft 365 will be free for a year if you’re a college student

Say what you want about American technological titans who make fun of the current administration, but at least children benefit from it.
As part of a meeting on Thursday with the working group on the Education of the White House – chaired by Melania Trump – Microsoft declared that it would provide a free personal subscription to Microsoft 365 to students for a year. Microsoft normally invoices $ 99.99 per year for this personal subscription Microsoft 365, so this is a fairly substantial savings for a student.
Students will have to register for the (free) subscription using a college identification email address. The subscription includes everything that the personal subscription already does, including access to Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and even more, the more the co -pilot and 1 TB of online storage.
There is a catch, of course: the first free year. After that, students will be invited to pay another subscription of the year – although this is up to half, at around $ 50 per year or $ 4.99 per month, said Microsoft.
Microsoft also offers students and teachers free AI lessons via Linkedin Learning, said the company.
Microsoft is not the only company to try to convince American students to join their programs. In addition to the typical discounts of students offered to students. Google said in April that the company will offer advanced Google Gemini, plus advantages like Notebooklm Plus and 2 TB for free cloud storage.
