Microsoft is planning to lay off thousands of employees in July

Thousands of Microsoft sales employees are expected to be dismissed next month, according to a new report – during a year in which the company has invested massively in AI.

The software giant seeks to make cuts at the end of his exercise in July, Bloomberg reported, citing anonymous sources familiar with the issue. The cuts should strongly strike commercial services, but not exclusively. In June 2024, Microsoft had 45,000 employees for sale and marketing.

Advice came for the first time in March, when the company deleted nearly 2,000 workers for performance reasons. In April, the writing was on the wall of the sales department: Bloomberg reported that Microsoft would rely more on third -party companies to sell to small and medium -sized customers.

A month later, he dismissed nearly 7,000 employees, or 3% of all his workforce, with discounts mainly from product and engineering positions. At this stage, Microsoft said that he was working to reduce management layers and adjust his structure in the middle of current platform trips.

Microsoft Stock struck an intrajournal record only two weeks ago, on June 5, its highest point since 2024. This has followed a series of announcements that indicated how deep AI is in business activities.

Earlier this year, Microsoft is committed to spending $ 80 billion during the year 2025 – most of the data centers compatible with AI. It is a figure that suggests that CEO Satya Nadella considers AI as the Cloud moment of Microsoft. And the market seems to agree.

Marketing service, or what left, may not.
