Microsoft’s Xbox PC launcher gets going with Steam, Epic, and other games showing up
Microsoft announced earlier this week that it would start testing its new aggregated game library on the Xbox application for Windows, and it is now starting to appear for the testers today. This new library experience lists Steam, Battle.net, Ubisoft, Epic Games Store and Riot Games titles which are all installed on a PC of various other launchers – a bit like Gog Galaxy.
I tried the experience today and I noticed that Microsoft automatically detects the installed games and lists in your library in the Xbox application, as well as a miniature or a relevant icon, and the name of the launcher from which the game was installed. Although the miniatures can do with a little work in this beta application, you will get an option to play the game or see it in the launcher concerned. You can also hide the games of these different PC stores if you don’t want to see them listed in the Xbox application.
This integration simply lists games and you will not get Xbox achievements or no additional feature in these titles. The consolidated library is part of Microsoft’s efforts to make the Xbox application on Windows the PC games and to improve the portable experience of Windows.
Speaking of Microsoft’s work to improve the experience of the Windows pocket computer, I had several people to give myself this week that the “Xbox Full screen” settings appeared to random on their existing ROG Ally devices.
