The United States is on the verge of losing its status as a law-free country next year. If this is the case, you will enter a new stage where the brothers will return to the commune.

Most children and children will be hospitalized for this preventable illness. Some lose their hearing. Someone is Moririan.

Sarampión is also expensive. A new studio — which has not been published in a scientific journal — estimates that Brothers’ prior public health response is worth $244,000.

When a person requires hospital attention, the immediate cost for that case is $58,600. According to the study’s estimates, a sibling like the incident earlier this year in West Texas, with 762 cases and 99 hospitalizations, costs about $12.6 million.

The status of the United States depends on which major brothers performed that year and who came from the big brother from West Texas who officially came on January 20. If these brothers are connected and continue beyond January 20 of next year, the country will not be considered sarampión free.

“A lot of people work a lot for a lot of time to record elimination: years of work to get vaccines available, record good vaccination coverage and have a quick response to brothers to limit the spread,” said Paul Rota, a recently retired microbiologist from the beginning. 40-year career in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

But at a time when it is a question of acting quickly to avoid the regreso of the sarampión, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., lawyer who founded an anti-vaccine organization before assuming leadership of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), has weakened the capacity of public health authorities to prevent and contain the brothers, at a time when they have confidence in them. vaccines.

The vaccine shot is safe and effective: only 4% of the country’s more than 1,800 confirmed cases this year are among people who receive the recommended doses.

Kennedy was sent by experts from the CDC’s vaccine assurance committee and confirmed, without verification, that vaccines can cause autism, brain inflammation and death.

On November 19, scientific information about vaccines and autism on the CDC website was replaced with false claims. Kennedy told the New York Times that he had ordered the change.

“We want to return to the era of vaccines, when we lost 500 children a year to the vaccine? said Demeter Daskalakis, former director of the CDC’s National Vaccination Center, who resigned in August in protest of Kennedy’s actions.

Daskalakis and other scientists say the Trump administration appears more interested in downplaying the sarramps’ resurgence in context.

An HHS attorney, Andrew Nixon, said in a statement that vaccination is the most effective tool to prevent vaccination and that “CDC and state and local health agencies are working together to assess transmission patterns and ensure an effective public health response.”

Finding Connections

CDC scientists are doing the test with investigators from health departments and universities.

To find out if the brothers are related, they analyze the genome of the sarampie virus, which contains all of its genetic information. This analysis can help reveal the origin of the brothers and their true extent, in addition to alerting on undetected contagions.

Scientists did this type of genetic analysis of HIV, flu and COVID years ago, but it’s something new for the virus because the virus has been a minor problem in the country for decades, said Samuel Scarpino, a public health specialist at Northeastern University in Boston. “It is important to establish a red alert that can quickly intensify when the sea is needed,” he said.

“We’re working with the CDC and other states to determine if we’re a big brother pushing state propaganda,” said Kelly Oakeson, a genomics researcher with the Utah Department of Health and Human Services.

First, the current sibling in Utah and Arizona, with 258 cases on December 1, is related to Texas because it was caused by the same virus disease, D8-9171. But it’s also circulating in Canada and Mexico, meaning brothers can be infected by infected people abroad.

If not, this technical difference could prevent the United States from losing its status, Rota says. There is a country free of sarampión meaning that the virus does not circulate continuously for a whole year.

Canada lost its status in November because authorities could not demonstrate that various brothers caused by CEPA D8-9171 were not linked, explained Daniel Salas, executive director of the Comprehensive Immunization Program of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).

The organization, part of the World Health Organization (WHO), includes health officials from North America, Central America, South America and the Caribbean, and determines sarampión elimination status based on scientific reports from member countries.

Early next year, PAHO is studying scientists from the United States. If your analysis indicates that sarampión has been spread continuously over the course of a year within the country, the director of the organization can revoke the country’s sarampión-free status.

“We hope that countries will be transparent with the information they have,” Salas said. “Let’s have some suggestions like: ‘How do we consider our conclusions and consider other possibilities?’ »

In preparing this assessment, Oakeson and other investigators are looking at things similar to D8-9171 in Utah, with respect to others.

Instead of analyzing only a fragment of the genome that identifies the virus, it involves examining the entire genome of the sarampión virus, which contains 16,000 genetic letters. Mutations occur naturally over time, and the accumulation of small changes functions like a watch that reveals the time spent between brothers. “It’s our watch of the evolutionary history of music,” Oakeson explained.

For example, if one child directly infects another, the virus in others will be identical. But the viruses of people infected at the start of a big brother will be slightly distinct from those circulating months later.

Once the Texas and Utah brothers caused the same thing, Oakeson said “more details led us to believe we weren’t very related.” To find out exactly what’s distinct between us, scientists are comparing it to sarampión virus genomes from other states and countries.

Ideally, genetic studies should complement the field research that each brother began. Without an embargo, most of these surveys were unable to obtain answers because the first infected people did not seek medical attention or notification to health authorities.

As in West Texas, offshore Utah and Arizona, they are concentrated in very close communities, with low vaccination and a lack of trust in government and conventional medicine.

The investigators also intend to know the cases of sarampión that have not been detected. “Confirmed cases require testing, and some communities have a cost associated with the hospital: a tank of gas, taking care of children, failing to work,” explained Andrew Pavia, an infectious disease doctor at the University of Utah. “If your son has a sarpullido de sarampión but is not muy enfermo, ¿for what molestarse?

Useful vigilance

Pavia is part of a Red Brotherhood Vigilance Nation led by the CDC. One form of sibling magnitude estimation will be a series of median surveys, but this gets complicated in communities that challenge public health personnel.

“In a collaborative organization, we can answer questions if anyone in the house has heard other symptoms of sarampión,” Pavie said. “But the same factors that make it difficult for people to vaccinate or also have difficulty doing so.”

Therefore, Pavie and other investigators are analyzing the genomes. Large genetic variation suggests that one sibling spreads in the weeks or months before it is detected, thereby infecting as many people as it knows.

A less invasive form of vigilance is intermediate with the analysis of residual water. This year, the CDC and public health departments are beginning to test wastewater from homes and buildings for the sarampus virus that eliminates infected people.

A Texas studio discovered it could serve as a temporary alert system, helping detect brothers before people arrive at the hospital.

The quiet work of CDC scientists contrasts with the agency’s lack of public communication.

Since President Donald Trump took charge of the cargo, the CDC has not been able to carry out a single press conference on the sarampión, and its last publication regarding the boletín Weekly Morbidity and Mortality Report came in April.

Instead of acting quickly to contain Texas’ brother, the Trump administration hampered the CDC’s ability to communicate quickly with state officials and demolished the pipeline for federal emergency funds, according to KFF Health News investigations. Meanwhile, Kennedy spread confusing messages about vaccines and promoted non-incompatible treatments.

Daskalakis said that while the Texas company’s brother, his CDC team did not receive a response when he asked Kennedy to brief other HHS officials.

“Objectively, we can’t help Texas’ brother, because if we lose elimination status, you said, ‘Y qué?’” Daskalakis said.

Nixon, the HHS spokesperson, confirmed that Kennedy responded forcefully to the Texas brothers by ordering the CDC to provide vaccines and vaccine medications to the community, expediting testing and providing guidance to doctors and health officials. I added that the United States retained its status because it had not conducted continuous transmission testing for 12 months.

“Preliminary genomic analysis suggests that the Utah and Arizona cases are not directly linked to Texas,” wrote CDC internal director and HHS deputy secretary Jim O’Neill in the social network

Because of the Kennedy story and the data on vitamin A, acetaminophen (Tylenol), and autism, Daskalakis suggested that the Trump administration was insisting that the brothers are not connected or that OPS is equivocal.

“Will be a big task for the Kennedy regime if it is the secretary of health during the year who loses our elimination status,” he said. “It’s what does everything possible to put scientific shame into duda, even if that means making scientists feel guilty.”
