Migration Imports Societies, not Individuals
President Trump and his advisers say mass migration matters to cultures and societies, but Democratic supporters insist that all migrants must be treated as autonomous individuals, entitled to all the legal protections enjoyed by Americans facing trials.
“This is the big lie of mass migration,” said Stephen Miller, a top adviser to President Donald Trump. said shortly after a supposedly controlled Afghan migrant shot and killed two National Guard soldiers in Washington, DC:
You’re not just importing individuals. You import companies. No magical transformation happens when failed states cross borders. On a grand scale, migrants and their descendants recreate the conditions and terrors of their broken countries.
A moment later, he tweeted:
Democrats have spent the last year demanding that every invader face a years-long trial before deportation, unlimited access to appeals, endless defenses to deportation, and automatic habeas release from ICE detention. The only process awaiting the invaders is expulsion.
Progressives, liberals and Democrats called Miller’s comments “collective punishment,” highlighting their legalistic and judicial view of migrants and their impact on society.
“Stephen Miller approves collective punishment. Just like the Nazis. If he looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, ” said Social media user kenpw97070.
Pro-migration progressives also insist that the Afghan was “examined” by investigators, as if a legal process could override the migrants’ personal cultural, religious and political background:

Why he would go from partner to terrorist, especially as a husband and father of five in the United States, is an important question to answer. The FBI will look for ties to a domestic terrorist cell or international contacts, even though he might simply be unhappy with his own adopted country.

Tens of thousands of people are building new lives here in peace and contributing to their community. They should not be blamed for one man’s violent act. Collectively punishing all Afghans in the United States will not make America safer and could make the United States even more embittered.
Progressives also use their demand for judicial-style immigration debates to obscure their unpopular policy goals.
Miller has ““I gave the Democrats a gift: a way to link the defense of immigrants’ rights to a broader defense of constitutional norms,” declared the editor-in-chief of the far-left newspaper. The nation »wrote the magazine in October. “With the Trump White House on the defensive, it would be foolish for Democrats to avoid attacking.”
But many Democrats are also abandoning the legalistic defense of migrants to argue that destructive migrants are worth the risk, including more Democratic-leaning voters, a broader economy and the imposition of chaotic diversity.
“There has never been experience [emphasis added] like this, where people from all corners of the world show up in the same place,” former President Barack Obama said on October 16:
[We] let’s say, based on these ideals – we hold these self-evident truths… all men are created equal… and a constitution, a Bill of Rights, and a democracy – that we can somehow figure out how to get along and maintain our private beliefs and pray to God in our own way, and retain aspects of the cultures we bring from wherever we are, and yet decide that we are all Americans… and try to improve it for each successive generation.
“I think George W. Bush believed that [it is possible] …I know John McCain believed that. I know Mitt Romney believed in it,” Obama added.
President Trump, however, asserts that the influx of unproductive migrants from backward countries is deeply harmful to Americans, stating on November 27:
Patriotic American citizens who, because of their beautiful hearts, do not want to openly complain or cause trouble in any way. They put up with what happened to our country, but it’s eating them alive! … As an example, hundreds of thousands of Somali refugees are taking over the once great state of Minnesota. Somali gangs roam the streets looking for “prey” while our wonderful people remain cooped up in their apartments and homes, hoping against hope to be left alone.
… Even as we have progressed technologically, immigration policy has eroded these gains and the living conditions of many.
I will permanently suspend migration from all third world countries to allow the American system to fully recover, I will end Biden’s millions of illegal admissions…and I will deport anyone who is not a net asset to the United States or who is incapable of loving our country, I will end all federal benefits and subsidies to non-citizens of our country, I will denaturalize migrants who compromise domestic tranquility, and I will deport any foreign national who constitutes a public charge, a security risk, or is not compatible with Western civilization.
“These goals will be pursued with the goal of achieving a major reduction in illegal and disruptive populations… Only REVERSE MIGRATION can completely remedy this situation,” Trump wrote.
