F1 results: Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri lead the way in FP1 at the Hungarian Grand Prix

The first training session before the Hungarian Grand Prix is in books.
And as was the case for most of the Formula 1 2025 season, the McLaren duo of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri paid the way.
Norris overcome the timing leaves in Hungaroring with a turn of 1: 16.052, just 0.019 seconds ahead of his teammate Piastri.
Most of the field focused on the rhythm of the race at the start, turning tricks around the Hungaroring on the C4 medium tires. Piastri established an early reference of 1: 18.249 on this compound, Norris defeating him a few minutes later with a time of 1: 17.631. When the grid went to the C5 soft tires around the half of the session, Charles Leclerc jumped at the top of the synchronization sheets, displaying a round of 1: 16.791.
His time at the top of the drop in timing was short -lived because Norris quickly defeated him with his knees of 1: 16,052. Piastri took some cracks to match his teammate, first with a turn of 1: 16.194, then his best attempt came to 1: 16.071.
It was not very clean of Norris, as towards the end of the session, he had a large locking at turn 1:
Leclerc slipped the third behind the McLaren duo, followed by Isack Hadjar and Lewis Hamilton to complete the top five. Hadjar was one of the rare recruits that shot a strong session, while Oliver Bearman turned into P6, and Kimi Antonelli finished seventh.
At the other end of the grid, Paul Aron, leading to the place of Nico Hülkenberg to meet a Recruue FP1 requirement, could only perform nine laps before a technical problem with his C45 does his session in its end. Felipe Drugovich, speaking for Fernando Alonso who seated the session due to a muscle problem behind his back, finished in P16 for Aston Martin.
