The European Union’s foreign policy chief criticized US claims that Europe was facing “civilizational erasure” and rejected what she called “fashionable euro-bashing.”

Kaja Kallas told an audience at the Munich Security Conference on Sunday that other countries admire Europe for its values, such as press freedom.

She said: “Contrary to what some may say, woke and decadent Europe is not facing civilizational erasure. In fact, people still want to join our club, and not just their fellow Europeans. In Canada, I have been told that more than 40% of Canadians are interested in joining the EU.”
