A passionate admirer of African football, the “White Magician” is an emblematic figure of the first African competition, having left his mark across the continent.

Responding to a question about the best team of the last CAN, Claude Le Roy replied this:

Throughout the tournament, I think Morocco was the better team. However, in the final, Senegal showed itself to be superior. In my opinion, the Atlas Lions looked exhausted after expending so much energy in their semi-final against Nigeria.

As a reminder, Senegal won the 35th edition of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) with a narrow victory against Morocco in the final, thanks to a goal scored by Pape Gueye.
